Don’t go with credit solutions! they are a settlement company. I see that post on here all the time!
Check out Debt Counseling Corp. I used them –they are great. helped with a budget and getting me on a right path. I have a friend who lives in TN and he used them as well.

I am going through a debt couseling service to consolidate my high interest credit cards, will this hurt my credit score?? Through this agency I can only have 1 open credit account — which is fine, I am SICK of credit debt, but what about buying a vehicle?? WOuld I be able to get financing??

I run a real estate title agency. The Mortgage Broker’s I’ve spoken to have one answer to that. Dont’ do it. Even tho you eliminate debt and multiple credit accounts which should improve your credit, the mere fact that you have a debt service on your credit means most people wont’ touch you with a ten foot pole. You are better off filing bankruptcy. Even with a bankruptcy on credit you can still get credit. Just at a high interest rate. With Debt Consolidation. You may not be able to get credit at all.

I think the reasoning is that these debt services essentially eliminate any profit these creditor’s can make off of you. So there is no reason for them to give you credit again.

And when I asked about this the dont’t do it answer was a strong one. Not just offhand advice.

I’ve tried the phone book and online and I only find national companies that are able to service my state. I need to find a company that has local offices, but how do I find them if they don’t even list themselves in the phone book?

There are NONE! So, sorry, but no one has any REAL answer to this. That is the beauty of their resistance, you dont have to have any ideas to whine and cry about the other party trying to lead. Funny how that works. 20 of the last 20 years in power and they left us BANKRUPT and almost Destroyed as a country, now they think they have ideas.

Wow… it sounds too good to be true. Assuming you have less than stellar credit getting a 10k loan at 8% interest is amazing. Too amazing because it’s a scam.

Here’s how the scam works: You sign a bunch of paperwork and then they say… we can’t release these funds without a security deposit, downpayment or insurance fee. They usually try and get you to send a few hundred bucks. You send the money… but the loan never comes. You call them and they say… ah… you’re credit is too low… send more money. Bottom line–you never get the loan.

i am on a mission to clear all credit debt and revert back to the days when if you wanted something you had to work hard and save up!! If i can do it (so far), anyone can!

We use to be in over $50,000 in total debt (not including the house). It was so bad. Never ever ever again.

I didn’t grow up with the best parents as finance mentors. They never taught me to save or invest. Through the years, I’ve made my mistakes and now I’m ready to move on. It’s more then just credit card debt, it’s about chaning your lifestyle. Dave Ramsey calls it the "Stupid Tax".
