My sister is in the idea to join an organization that offers debt solutions, what are the qualities required for being a part of the debt resolution program?
Debt solutions are offered for people who are facing the hardships of paying debts. This includes the people who are late in paying their debts, those who are not able to pay their debts and for those who are facing a possible bankruptcy.
Is the credit card debt solutions companies on the up and up?
I was checking on line about getting my credit card debt paid off. Is it a good idea in using a company to get out of credit card debt?
Many of these companies are rip-offs. That is not to say that there aren’t any legitimate ones, but they may be rare.
Generally the legitimate organizations are non-profits, NOT the ones that advertise heavily on TV, radio, billboards, the Internet, etc. (if the company offering the solution is making a profit, then it is profiting off the financial distress of others, probably NOT where you want your precious and scarce money to go).
If the company is offering to settle your debts for less than the amount owed, you should be aware that you will owe income tax on any "forgiven" amount – something these debt settlement companies rarely mention. I.e., if you have $20,000 in income from employment this year, but your debt settlement company arranges to have you pay only $30,000 in settlement of $60,000 worth of debt, you will wind up owing income taxes on $50,000 of "income" at the end of the year – a serious tax hit for those with limited incomes, and a tax debt that will not be dischargeable in bankruptcy if you eventually decide that you must go that route.

I’ve been researching debt companies and Fast Debt Solutions seemed to be more honest with me than others. I want to see if anyone out there has either used them or heard about them in the past.
I have used them. Actually, I am with them right now. Obviously, I did some research in to the "other" companies out there and found them to be quite helpful. I am about a year into the program and they have already helped me pay off 2 of my credit card. Everything is personalized & I have not had any issues. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for some help! Hope this helps you
